Phatic labor, infrastructure, and the question of empowerment in Cairo

November 13, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Selamat Pagi Rekan-rekan Reading Group ‘Feminism & Development,

Mengingatkan untuk Reading Session pertama beberapa hari lagi pada Minggu, 13 November pukul 5-6.30pm.

Artikel dengan judul “Phatic labor, infrastructure, and the
question of empowerment in Cairo” ini ditulis oleh Julia Elyachar, Economic Anthropologist di Princeton University.

3 pertanyaan yang dapat dijadikan guide:
1. To what extent has phatic labor been embedded in Indonesia’s social and economic landscape?
2. Are you convinced with Elyachar’s argument that unpaid labor and phatic labor are mutually exclusive?
3. What kinds of policy interventions should we employ to address ‘phatic labor’ if not through the lens of unpaid labor?

Sampai bertemu!

P.S. untuk yang sudah mengisi form, invitation dan artikelnya sudah saya kirim via email. Untuk yang belum, bisa via https://bit.ly/FEMECON

Terima Kasih.
